Nutre Hogar (literally Nutrition Home) is a Non Governmental Organization which provides nutrition to low, moderately and severely malnourished children from 0 - 5 years old. Nutre Hogar provides children the nutrition they need in their early years and educates their parents or family on how to better care for their children.
The Nutre Hogar we are helping is a residential home, located in Penonomé and we are about to start a project to renew unsafe bathrooms in the home.
To be effective and safe, the home needs (working) child toilets, finished washing facilities and a safe child bathing area. It does not have these today:

1. Consultations with the senior staff have identified that toilet doors ARE NOT required on the cubicles, one existing toilet does not work and needs to be replaced with a child toilet.
2. Two wash basins share a single water faucet.
3. The baby washing area (3 sinks) is dangerous as each sink is surrounded by sharp tiles (not rounded edges), the faucets and water outlets are not suitable for bathing babies.
4. This project is to update the area, per staff requirements, removing wood, using modern materials suitable for the environment and to comply with all local safety legislation.

Purchasing materials has started.  The construction work is planned to start by 30th October 2017 and should be completed by 24th  November 2017.
